THE CALL

This year we will be asking the Lord for a nationwide wave of revelation about the identity of the Gentile church and God's purposes for Israel in the last days. We're inviting you to join with us, here in Palmerston North, to call on God for His end time purpose to be revealed. We're seeking revelation, as part of the commonwealth of Israel, in relation to Fathers agenda for Jews and Gentiles and what He is doing in the Middle East at this time, so that the Church of New Zealand can fulfil it's God ordained, prophetic function amongst the nations of the world.

Over the past eight years we have journeyed together in a process of repentance, reformation and revelation that has lead us to our 7th Joel2 Assembly. We began with identificational repentance for the shortcomings of our nation in 2005, then we cried out for generational healing and the restoration of fatherhood in 2006. In 2007 evangelism was the focus of Joel2 and the following year we joined Tangata Whenua at the Rangiotu Marae to pray with and for the host people of Aotearoa. 2009 was devoted to building unity as one people in the city and last year we pursued God's identity for us as a nation among the nations.

Isaiah pronounced, "The Lord has made a proclamation to the ends of the earth:" to announce the entrance of the Saviour to the "Daughter of Zion" (Isaiah 62:11). The apostle Paul said, "The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." (Rom 8:19) Jerusalem waits until "the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:24) and again Paul tells us that God's purpose is to create "one new man" out of both Jew and Gentile (Ephesians 2:15).

This Easter - We've invited a team from Kehilat HaCarmel, a Messianic Assembly on Mt Carmel, near Haifa, including  Eric Benson (Director of the House of Victory), Tom and Ronit Bender (Community Youth Outreach).

We believe that this unique team will give definition to the times we live in punctuated by their powerful testimonies.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Eric Benson

House of Victory (Beit Nitzachon)
Mission:

  • To see men set free from substance abuse and come to know Yeshua
  • For men to receive a deep healing in their lives
  • For men to find new life through the Word of God

Reaches out to: Needy men struggling with life-controlling issues

House of Victory, located in the city of Haifa on Mount Carmel, is Israel's first Bible-based rehabilitation center. Founded by David and Karen Davis in 1991 after the first Gulf War, the vision for this ministry is the "one new man" in Messiah of Ephesians 2:14-16. Many Jews and Arabs have been delivered from life-controlling problems and have found new life through the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Marriages and families have been restored.
Many graduates of House of Victory are now leading productive lives, and some are also ministering to other afflicted individuals in Israel. The program is based on the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) and Isaiah 58:7: "Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?"

    Tom and Ronit Bender

Tom and Ronit met in 1978 and have an amazing testimony of God's divine providence. Ronit is an Israeli-born Jew who came to faith over 30 years ago while Tom was contracted to a basketball club in Tel Aviv. Tom is an American born Australian citizen who played professional basketball in Europe for six years, including two in Israel. Prior to that, he played on the Australian Basketball Team at the Munich Olympics. At 2.10 meters (6 feet 11 inches) tall, he is an easily recognized sporting personality in Israel. In addition, Tom has also 24 years experience as a high school teacher in Christian-based schools in Australia.

Over five years ago, Ronit and Tom returned to Israel in answer to the call of God after living in Australia for over twenty-six years. They developed a youth outreach program for minority groups in the northern part of Israel including a youth club, which caters for 14-16 year old boys and girls. They teach the youth English and youth development. In addition, Tom trains junior boys and girls in basketball. He also teaches at House of Victory located in the city of Haifa on Mount Carmel. HOV is Israel's first Bible-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Ronit is a gifted intercessor with a great burden for her people. She has caught the vision of the "One New Man," (Ephesians 2:14-16) where Arab and Jew can live together as one in the Lord and He is using her powerfully to touch the lives of many Israeli women, who in desperation are seeking truth as never before.

    ABOUT JOEL 2 2011

In 2011 our gathering will focus on Israel and her prophetic place as the lead nation in God's end time prophetic timetable.

    Jack Hayford says:

"God refers to Israel as He does to no other land on Earth. Israel was raised up to be a light to the Gentiles."

"We are living in a sobering moment in history that calls us, as believers in Jesus Christ, to take a stand with Israel. We could be people of the last hours. We are not to be passive in the face of prophecy..."

"We believe in God's promises for His beloved nation and fervently pray to hasten the day when He brings fulfillment to His Word."

    Derek Prince says:

"The church needs to recognize the special destiny of Israel, and to align itself with God's purposes."

"It is equally important for us all to acknowledge the truth of what Jesus said to the Samaritan woman in John 4:22, "Salvation is of the Jews." This is an indisputable, historical fact. Without the Jews we would have no patriarchs, no prophets, no apostles, no Bible-and no Savior! Deprived of all these, how much salvation would we have left to us? None!" (Our Debt to Israel by Derek Prince)

We believe that Easter 2011, at Gateways Christian Fellowship, will be a significant moment in our journey to fulfill Isaiah 62 and especially verse 11:

The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your Savior comes!"

    JOEL 2 ASSEMBLIES

Over the past seven years we have journeyed with the Lord through our Joel2 process. We have hosted six Joel2 Sacred Assemblies at Easter since 2005. Each assembly has had its unique, prophetic purpose and focus as the Holy Spirit has led us to pray for God's agenda for New Zealand and in the nations.

Most people have little idea of what a "Joel2 Assembly" is about and far fewer have ever experienced one. Here are some defining characteristics of what we have come to understand a Joel2 Assembly to be.

    1. Each Joel2 Assembly has a specific purpose Each assembly is based on a prophetic call. This call has been to New Zealand rather than just one church or one stream of churches. The purpose being the most important focus. So why are we approaching you? We believe that both of you carry a burden for what God wants to do in the nations. We also believe that this burden must be transferred into the hearts of others so that they too take up the call. We believe that God is about to commission a new wave of harvesters from the ends of the earth. That is why we are asking you to come.
    2. Each Joel2 Assembly is continuous Once we have begun the assembly it ideally continues, without breaks, until its conclusion. The assembly carries on for a number of days (usually 3). Some years we have continued around the clock while for others we have had a late night break for everyone to get some sleep. With either style, people can come and go as they feel and we set aside a nearby space for those who need or want time out. We believe it is important to keep attracting an increase of the manifest presence of God. To support this, we encourage continuous prayer and worship. Teams of worshippers carry this similar to the way David organized the Levites to offer continual worship to the Lord (in shifts). Leadership also changes in a similar manner so that everyone involved has times of rest and refreshing as the assembly progresses.
    3. Each Joel2 Assembly includes fasting This year we had a day of preparation, a day of fasting, and a day of celebration and release.
    4. Each Joel2 Assembly is supported by relevant ministry The purpose of these sessions is to connect us with the concern that is on Father's heart that year. They can include teaching, preaching, ministry, body contributions, and the expression of the gifts of the spirit. Before and after these sessions the prayer and worship continues. This means people can stay with others in His presence and keep processing what God is doing.
    5. Each Joel2 Assembly is for everyone According to Joel 2, this type of assembly is for everyone from the youngest child to the eldest, from the least to the greatest, and should even include those who have good reason to stay away (the newly married!). It is inclusive rather than exclusive.
    6. Each Joel2 Assembly includes a time of repentance and sometimes even weeping The release of God's goodness is often being hampered by an issue that requires identificational repentance. This happens when we address the sin of others as if it were our own. Some good examples of this can be seen in the prayers of Daniel and Nehemiah on behalf of Israel.
    7. Each Joel2 Assembly encourages intercessory prayer Father has shown us that this type of meeting is a gathering of priests (1 Peter 2v5) standing in His presence led by Jesus the Great High Priest. Joel 2 shows us that there is a time for consecration before priestly function. Then we stand in the gap as a holy priesthood and intercede as He leads us.
    8. The leadership of each Joel2 Assembly is shared and reflects partnership The process of leadership is shared and we work in team. We work together in hearing the voice of the Lord and we work together in making decisions about direction, timing, judging prophecy etc. That said, someone here will be a point person. This person is responsible for making sure that the assembly stays on track with respect to its purpose - but they do not act alone.
We see leadership as an active process where we have a plan, but allow the Lord to moderate things as we go. We would invite you to be part of this process and join us in leadership function contributing as you feel led by Him.
